the founder of Dinamalar, was a freedom fighter, philosopher and a journalist. He launched Dinamalar in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala in the year 1951. He subsequently launched editions of the newspaper from the cities in Tamil Nadu including Tirunelveli in 1951, Trichy in 1966, Chennai in 1979, Madurai in 1980, Erode in 1984, Puducherry in 1991, Coimbatore in 1992, Vellore in 1993, Nagercoil in 1996, and Salem in 2000. Ramasubbaiyer was not aligned to any party or ideology and stayed clear of political or religious affiliation for the newspaper. Ramasubbaiyer died in the year 1984 after which his son, Lakshmipathy took over the newspaper.
